Blinded by the Light October 29, 2002
Well as you can see I've got Gold membership. Expect to see a lot more pictures here. I've also decided that the title of each entry will be ripped off from a song. Why this title? Well I've just committed myself to giving the presentation on photodynamic therapy that I mentioned a few weeks ago. It's really weird. Instead of giving people drugs in the conventional sense a dye is injected. For some reason that I still haven't been able to discover the dyes like to collect in tumours. Irradiating the tumour with a laser light with the correct wavelength causes the dye to produce what's called singlet oxygen and to cut a long story short the tumour cells die. Neat or what?
