Please don't tell old Annie, but the new boots she got me (and I chose) for my birthday are bloody killing me! Maybe they need to be broken in, but will this happen before my right foot drops off? Other presents I got were a great video celebrating the centenary of my football team Norwich City, a Norwich City mug, a new beer glass (personalised) and a CD of the Who's greatest hits. I usually use the arrival of my birthday as a signal to start panicking about Xmas shopping. It's not so bad now I'm with old Annie, but when I was single it was a nightmare trying to work out what to get people. Now Annie does most of the thinking and I provide half the money and most of the leg work. A good arrangement I think.
