Last Night Friday, Dec. 19, 2003 Last Night Old Annies been suffering with the flu all week. I dont mean just a bad cold either. Shes had a fever, aches and pains, a headache, been sick several times as well as the usual coughs and sneezes. Thankfully she seems to be getting better now. I was woken up last night at about 1 am to find Old Annie sitting up in bed on the phone to someone. AM was in the room. Apparently AM had been trying on clothes (at 1 am I know, but its not unusual in our house), when she decided to go and get a drink and just then the phone rang. It was her fathers wife- they only got married in July. Hed beat her up again and this time shed got the police involved and hed been arrested. So it looks like hes going to do another stretch inside. And shes going to divorce him. Which is exactly what Old Annie did about 7 years ago when shed had enough of his beatings. AM was so upset by it she went and stayed the rest of night round her friends house. When Old Annie told TBG this morning he didnt say much, but it must upsetting for him too. At least the kids dont get to witness this sort of behaviour at first hand anymore. In a lighter vein one of my colleagues became a father for the first time last night. He actually came into to work today to finish of some paperwork and bring some cakes. Where are the cigars? We had a raffle of all the stuff that the management team collect at conferences and trade shows. There were several bottles of booze but I had to make do with a diary.
