Food Glorious Food

Old Annie and I went for an impromptu meal on Valentine's day. All the best restaurants are booked up weeks in advance so we thought we wouldn't bother. To make things easier at home Anne suggested we get a takeaway, and maybe we could go for a drink first. However the kids didn't seem to want anything, so Old Annie suggested we go and eat in a pub. We went to a place we'd eaten in a couple of times before (The Two Brewers) but all the tables were reserved because they had a special Valentine's menu, 3 courses for 20. As we were leaving they called us back and said that they could fit us in since it was quite early. So we went and had a really nice meal, with a free glass of wine each too. The only down side was that we were still in our work clothes and felt very scruffy. As I said the meal was great, on a par with expensive restaurants that we'd been to, and all for 50 for the 2 of us once drinks were added on. But when we got the bill it was only 29! They must have made a mistake- it just didn't make sense at all. We paid and left as quick as we could, before they changed their minds.
